Self Drive Tours Ireland : Driving Tour Holidays in Ireland
Our tours specialise on the counties bordering Dublin (Wicklow – Kildare – Meath – Louth). All respected for their scenic beauty and significance in the ancient history of Ireland and where our local knowledge can be put to best use.
The countryside comprises a mixture of scenery found in The Ardennes, Scotland, Cornwall and the English Lake District.
Wicklow referred to as the Garden of Ireland – Kildare famed for the Irish blood stock and the Gordon Bennett Motor Race of 1903 – Louth and Meath forming the Boyne Valley home to more history than any other area in Ireland.
Routes researched and selected for their empty scenic locations encompassing enthralling Historic House and breathtaking mature Gardens, some houses still occupied by ‘the family’ will open specially for your visit.
Historically motorsport in Ireland featured closed public roads. Events having been held for over 100 years. To encompass the motoring theme we include a selection of these, now mainly unused, circuits, Hillclimb and rally special stages, for you to explore and enjoy.
In true Irish tradition the whole experience enjoys a ‘laid back’ approach, designed as a non competitive scenic classic car motoring tour leaving you time to enjoy the uncluttered roads and slower pace of life, whilst taking in all or as many of the sights as you please.
A Classic car is not essential – bring whatever car you would like, or we have contacts with hire companies – ask for further details and discounted rates.
Our experienced coordinator can be available throughout the tour, when we suggest designated check points each day, should assistance be required. However liaison with these is not compulsory. Should you fail to arrive he will simply assume you are away enjoying the craic!!!!
Irish hospitality is famous the world over so you can expect quality hotels selected for secure parking. Delicious Irish cuisine and no visit to our island would be completed without sampling a traditional Irish music evening.
